Dr. Rayan Kaakati is a board-trained pediatric and adult allergist and immunologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of environmental allergies, food allergies, drug allergies, eczema, hives, asthma and immune deficiencies. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of California in 2014 and her medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in 2019. Dr. Kaakati completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan in 2022 and her fellowship in pediatric and adult allergy and immunology at the University of North Carolina in 2024.
During her fellowship, Dr. Kaakati conducted research on mast cell disorders and eosinophilic esophagitis, developing a particular clinical interest in seasonal and environmental allergies, eosinophilic esophagitis and drug allergy management, including penicillin allergy de-labeling. She lives in Raleigh with her husband and two young children and enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, exploring new restaurants and watching movies.
