R. Glen Medders, MD, FACS
A native North Carolinian, Dr. Medders—the son of a family doctor— grew up in Louisburg. He completed his undergraduate training and his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then went to Baltimore for residency training in otolaryngology / head and neck surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Medders is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
“I decided to become a doctor because I enjoyed school and the challenges of studying medicine as well having the opportunity to work in a helping profession where I could make a positive difference in people’s lives,” he said. “The ear, nose and throat specialty is especially rewarding because we deal with a wide variety of patients from newborns to geriatric and everything in between. We also treat a variety of illnesses using medical and surgical methods.”
Dr. Medders is an enthusiastic supporter of the arts and community development of Raleigh. He serves on several Boards including the Art Society for the NC Museum of Art.
Dr. Medders is interested in all aspects of ENT, and he particularly enjoys pediatric ENT and treatment of sinus diseases and allergies, and detection and treatment of head and neck cancers.
